PhD Student Reference
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your earnest support and expert guidance throughout my doctoral studies. You have never failed to respond with timely and appropriate advice and, wherever possible, solutions to problems. Dear Henry,
Reference: Final PhD Thesis
Please find enclosed my final PhD thesis for your collection.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your earnest support and expert guidance throughout my doctoral studies. I am aware that, at times, I may not have been the easiest student to work with and for this my apologies. I have, however, very much enjoyed our interactions during the latter period of my registration. Despite being in the unenviable position of taking on my supervision mid-stream, you have never failed to respond with timely and appropriate advice and, wherever possible, solutions to problems. I am indebted to you for this.
I know that you will have supervised many doctoral theses to completion and probably have a library of them. I hope that you will glance at this one occasionally and take pleasure in the knowledge that you played a significant part in its genesis and in the attainment of my academic goals.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet up with you during your next visit to England. If there are any arrangements that I can make on your behalf to enhance your enjoyment of the visit it would be my pleasure. Please do not hesitate to ask.
I have on final request of you. With your permission, I would very much like to include you on my CV as a potential academic referee. It would be advantageous in this regard to list your current position and professional affiliation. If you have no objection to this request, I would be grateful if you could drop me a line by email and include this information.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Paul D. Bromley
